The Best Hack To Achieve Your Goals
May 19, 2026Have you ever felt like you have lots of ideas on what you could be doing in order to achieve your goals but fall short on actually doing those things?
I don't know about you but I'm rarely short on ideas of things I could be doing that would help me grow my life, my business, my health, my wealth, my relationships... all of it really.
The ideas are the starting point for creating something new in our life, but they're just that - the starting point.
One of the single greatest lessons that you and I are learning in this life time is this: how to take an idea and PUT IT INTO ACTION!
That's where the magic is, that's where the growth is and oh yeah baby... that's where the RESULTS ARE.
Today I'm going to give you my favourite and most powerful hack to actually put those ideas into ACTION.
Because life changes lead to changes in your life!
A Call I'll Never Forget
Two months ago I got a call from my aunt that went like this:
"Your dad's back in the hospital, he's non-responsive. Even if I'm holding his hand and say 'Chris, squeeze my hand if you can hear me' he can't even acknowledge that."
"The doctor came in today and said because of the brain bleed, he's not going to get better. He'll be like this for the rest of his life. So we have a choice, let him stay like this or stop the IV and let him go at his time."
Between my aunt, my brother and I we all made the hard decision to let nature take it's course. My dad was not the type to want to be in a state like that and would have been swearing up a storm to let us know to 'shoot him now'.
My wife and I and our kids have been traveling Europe since October so I was in Cyprus when my aunt called me. I booked a flight to leave Cyprus and head to Montreal to see dad before they took him off the IV on Wednesday that week.
He died Tuesday.
An hour before I got there.
It was heartbreaking and at the same time comical because that's how my dad was, he wouldn't have wanted my brother or I to see him that way.
Deep Pain Leads To Deep Reflection
I took about 10 days off of work and life, reminisced with my brother and aunt over the next few days before taking a solo trip to Budapest to reflect and reset.
In my reflecting it had me thinking about my dad's life, what were the things he wanted to do with his life that he never did?
Naturally, it led me to thinking of my life and a powerful reflection question that I'd invite you to try out in your journal
What are the things I want to do with my life that I haven't yet?
The pain of losing my dad actually opened me up more to what I wanted to create with whatever time is left in my life.
I want to see what I can do with this gift I've been given.
I want to see what I'm made of.
I want to see what my purpose is and how much of it I can live in to.
They're not entirely new thoughts by any means, but it gave me more urgency and has me working on building and creating more than I have in a long time, while simultaneously working on being in the present moment and enjoying the great gift of today.
The POWERFUL HACK For Getting More Done
It's one word and it's a simple word but it takes COMMITMENT to install it. It takes COMMITMENT to live it.
ACCOUNTABILITY
I LOVE accountability that fosters growth. I love working with someone else or multiple people who are COMMITTED to their goals. COMMITTED to their greatness.
Here's what I've done with it and am encouraging you to find your version of it if you're looking to level up your execution on the ideas you have for your life and your goals.
- I hired a new coach that was outside of my comfort zone for price and for the fact that they're the kind of person that doesn't take any b.s. from me but holds me to what I say I am committed to.
- I parterned up with three people I respect and know are committed to creating great things in their life.
- I launched a small group coaching program where I am working with a few high-performing leaders and entrepreneurs and we are doing challenges together. setting targets and holding each other to them.
The result?
More of my ideas coming to life. Not perfectly and still not as fast as I'd like them to, but 100% consistently.
Your Action Items To Put To The Test
- Write in your journal: What are the most important things I want to do with my life that I haven't yet?
- Pick one thing that really matters to you and turn it into a 90-day commitment that has you taken the action that will move you towards that goal.
- Find or create accountability around it
-hire a coach
-ask a friend, colleague or business associate to partner up with you
-join a small group of people where you're masterminding and commited to helping each other achieve their goals
No need to over complicate it though.
Get clear on One goal.
Get clear on the commitments.
Creat the accountability.
